Stan Lee firmó ejemplares de Ultimo #1 en Rock'n Comic-Con

El colaborador en la creacion de este manga, junto con Hiroyuki Takei, se dedicó a firmar ejemplares del volumen numero 1 de este comic para sus fans en la convención Rock'n Comic-Con, realizada en Pasadena, California.

Ultimo es una historia que comienza en Farmless City,, un suburbio al oeste de Tokio cuando un dia sus ciudadanos estan aterrorizados de contemplar dos figuras mecanicas en el cielo. Una es Ultimo, y otra es Vice, seres mecanicos con habilidades sobrehumanas que representan al bien y al mal, respectivamente. La trama se desarrolla a partir de quienes son y por que estan ahi.

El anime de Iron Man a estrenarse el 1 de octubre?!?

Marvel Entertainment has formally announced that the Madhouse produced Iron Man anime television series will premiere in Japan on October 1st on the Animax satellite TV network.

Marvel Entertainment ha anunciado formalmente que la version anime del comic, producida por Madhouse, tendra su premiere en Japon el 1 de octubre en Animax, canal satelital.

New English trailers for Sengoku Basara, Eden of the East and Hetalia

Siguiendo en la linea de la venta de Funimation, han salido nuevos trailers de series y peliculas distribuidos por esta empresa.

Funimation originally licensed Eden of The East at its Otakon panel in 2009. The company then announced in April that it also licensed the three planned Eden of The East films. Funimation will release the 11-episode series on DVD and Blu-Ray on September 28.

Funimation announced that it had licensed the Hetalia - Axis Powers historical comedy series in January. Funimation is currently streaming the first 16 episodes of the series. Funimation will release the first season of the series on DVD on September 14.

Funimation revealed in February 2009 that it had licensed the My Bride is a Mermaid romantic comedy series. The company began streaming episodes of the anime on its website in December. Funimation will release the first part of the series on DVD on July 20.

Is DB no longer subbing Bleach anymore?

Following on from a poll the other day, Crunchyroll have now setup a petition to get 100,000 signatures and help it aquire the rights to simucast Bleach.

The petition will be sent directly to Japan, and if sucessful, could see simucasted on the site.

Crunchyroll already have a deal with Tokyo TV and is enjoying sucess with other SJ shows such as Naruto Shippuden and Fairy Tail

Parece ser que los Crunchyroll seran los que esten a cargo ahora de proveer los episodios de Bleach subtitulados desde el momento en que DB los deje de proveer.

El ultimo volumen de Full Metal Panic saldra en agosto de este año

Una hoja de solicitación al detal de la obra de Shoji Gatoh muestra que sera agosto cuando saldrá el volumen 12 de Full Metal Panic, seguido muy de cerca de la fecha de salida del volumen 11, el 17 de julio en Japón.

La historia de Full Metal Panic se centra en la historia del rudo sargento Sagara Sousuke, quien debe proteger a una joven llamada Chidori Kaname como su compañero de clases encubierto.

A su vez, The Hollywood Reporter anunció que los estudios Mandalay Pictures adquirieron los derechos de la obra para adaptarla al cine, con rumores de Zac Efron en el papel principal.

"The moon is a huge water balloon" and other wisdom.

NASA sure does know how to drag out the kooks. NASA's innovative new project for studying the Moon's chemistry and attempting to detect water involves effectively slamming a projectile into the Moon's surface and analyzing the resulting ejecta. The Register reports on the crazies who are concerned about the US government's latest 'bombing campaign':

He wasn't alone, either, with various observers backing the surrealists' possible belief that NASA might inadvertently cause major havoc with their crater strike. This might seem to be impossible given the bigness of the Moon, the smallness of the LCROSS, and the laws of physics - but there were those who disagreed. Commentard Greenstar perhaps summed up this point of view best:

Think of the planets in terms of forming a sentence. The Earth is a noun. The moon is a verb. Its very existance creates action in the tides, the weather, and possibly human mood. It's perfection of rotation sets into play all the components that make it possible for life here to exist and yet no life exists there. How is that possible? Wouldn't it seem logical for the earth to have a reciprocal effect on the moon - but it doesn't. The laws of symbiosis don't apply. If the moon is nothing more than a big rock then it can be cleaved like a big rock. Laws of mass and density don't apply nor do they offer us protection from the idiots at NASA who have never watched a diamond cutter. They are big boys with BIG toys and brains the size of a TRex AND are running the risk of making us all extinct.

MAJOR news about early tetrapods today.

Okay, I've exaggerated by putting MAJOR in all-caps, but here it is:

Tetrapod trackways from the early Middle Devonian period of Poland

The fossil record of the earliest tetrapods (vertebrates with limbs rather than paired fins) consists of body fossils and trackways. The earliest body fossils of tetrapods date to the Late Devonian period (late Frasnian stage) and are preceded by transitional elpistostegids such as Panderichthys and Tiktaalik that still have paired fins. Claims of tetrapod trackways predating these body fossils have remained controversial with regard to both age and the identity of the track makers. Here we present well-preserved and securely dated tetrapod tracks from Polish marine tidal flat sediments of early Middle Devonian (Eifelian stage) age that are approximately 18 million years older than the earliest tetrapod body fossils and 10 million years earlier than the oldest elpistostegids. They force a radical reassessment of the timing, ecology and environmental setting of the fish–tetrapod transition, as well as the completeness of the body fossil record.
